For the May installment of my 21 In ’21 series, I’ve got a series of 21 floral pattern outfits to share. Originally, my plan was to post a “May flowers” OOTD every day on Instagram leading up to today but that didn’t quite happen.

As with each of the previous posts – 21 In ’21: Blogs To Discover, 21 in ’21: Instagram Accounts To ❤, 21 in ’21: Delightful Reads, and 21 in ’21: Helpful Hacks – I am publishing a post on the 21st of each month that lists 21 of my top recommendations/favorites/ideas as they relate to that month’s topic. Limiting the list to 21 might seem restrictive (and in some months I might sneak in a couple extra if necessary) but think of it as an ice-breaker exercise. Or a conversation starter regarding how fun and fabulous floral patterns can be.

And like in those previous installments, the series of OOTDs featuring an assortment of May flowers you’ll see below is not limited to one specific type, garment, or quantity. In a few cases, I’ve doubled up on the patterns.

In today’s look, I’ve got four. First off is my dress with its impressionist style floral pattern that I bought last Fall (but somehow hadn’t worn yet). Next are my shoes which have a laser-cut flower detail. Rounding out the florals in my look are my wire sculpture necklace and my earrings with their tiny flowers.

Even though my plan for this 21 in ’21 post didn’t go as quite as planned, with a little creativity I still have a full complement of May flowers to share. Leading up today, there were 5 blog posts and another 6 IG posts each with different floral patterns.

As seen in the grid

In additions to those 11, there are another two blog posts and two IG posts coming out in the next week that will also carry on with the May flowers theme.

Sneak Peek At What’s Due Out Soon

Blasts From The Past

And rounding out the offering, I’ve pulled looks from the month of May for each previous year of this blog.

Head to toe, I’d say that florals are the dominant pattern in my wardrobe. What about you? Is your wardrobe a garden party of floral patterns or are they not your thing? And, one last question … how are you doing now that four months and 21 days have already passed in 2021?

Stay well and let’s keep in touch! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, pin … all options are available. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  1. Floral pieces are some of my fave this time of year! You have way more pieces than I do, though and I love all of the different ways you’ve styled them! Esp the floral pants! I love the neutral laser cut flower shoes you have on in this outfit, they look like they’d go nicely with almost anything!

Carrie, it seems like florals are so right for any occasion. I’ve got florals for every season so these are just a fraction of what’s in my wardrobe.

You wear florals so well – and it’s so fun you could incorporate so many of them into your outfit 🙂 You do have a lot of great floral pieces in your wardrobe. I always think I don’t have a lot of florals (stripes are my go-to print usually) but there are some cute floral kimonos and I’ve been trying to branch out more with some floral dresses too! 🙂

Hope you are having a good weekend 🙂 Thanks for your comment on my blog!

Thank you, Mica. You’ve been killing it lately with florals and kimonos. It’s been rubbing off on me 😉

    • I love florals and am always drawn to floral prints. But I definitely have not as many as you…..

I love all of your floral outfits and combinations, Rena! My favorite I think is the May 25 outfit with the floral peplum top and those wonderful cropped red jeans! So cute!

Shelbee, thank you for the outfit love. There’s a blog post that goes along with the cropped red jeans outfit.

Thank you, Jill. I like how that combination turned out, too.

These florals are great! I too am a floral girl and love them anytime of year really. Love this post!

Mireille, you wear bright colors so well and you have a keen eye for working them into your outfits.

  5. You certainly wear florals well, Rena! I love that your wardrobe is kind of dominated by them. Mine, however, not so much. It’s not because I don’t like them – I really do. I just don’t seem to have much. I guess it’s something I ought to remedy lol!
