A successful gameplan includes the expectation of going the distance, seeing it through to the end. Sometimes, there is no end, instead just the embracing of a new mindset. Whether we’re talking about a work project or a change in lifestyle, sometimes the best measure of success is the effort that is put forward.

This series, Last Week This Week, started as a Monday thru Friday look back at what I’d worn to work in the past week. With that part of my life soon ending, these posts have expanded to a full Sunday thru Saturday chronically, something like a diary. As such, for each day there is a brief description of my outfit or the photo as well as a detail or two about what happened.

Sunday

The Husband and I took a nice long walk along the beach although it was a bit windy. We saw lots of other walkers, all maintaining recommended distances. Who else has encountered more “hellos” and “how’s it going?” now than before social distancing?

Monday

I got much more settled into the routine of WFH which included changing out of workout clothes, showering, and dressing like I expected to be presentable. Even if I mostly dressed for comfort. We tend to keep our home chillier than my work office had been so layers are still a must. These jeans were my featured item in Reclaim-Recycle-Reuse: Patched Up Jeans and this time I’m wearing them ankle-length with rolled cuffs.

Tuesday

I have a ton of scarves so I’m trying to up my game with wearing them while the temps are still cool.  Finding a good location for the OOTD photos is a challenge.  It was a little late in the day so the background light was a bit too bright.

Wednesday

One of the benefits of WFH is wearing comfy shoes. This look started with these burgundy slip-ons which led to the flyaway cardigan. Since you’re only seen from the waist up during a video conference, I opted for my old favorite jeans.  I tried out an interior location and had to keep an eye out for photo bombers.

Thursday

My work colleagues have been having some fun with their outfit accessories (see photo after mine OOTD). So I decided to dress up as well, full-on with button-down blouse and a tweed jacket. The Husband noticed and asked me why I was so dressed up. I had a full day of meetings so the outfit helped to put me in a working frame of mind.

Friday

After sifting through some of the options in my closet, I landed on my stack of cardigans. Actually, there might be two such stacks. 🤷‍♀️ I settled on this cheery hued leopard print and went with basic black underneath.  Another photo location option gets a try.  Later in the evening, there was a Zoom get-together with The Husband’s family, most of whom live in NY/NJ area.  All are well and it was great to see everyone.

Saturday

This day’s photo is of my office area all cleaned up which is what we did for most of Saturday. There’s no OOTD photo because I never got around to taking one (and maybe never really got dressed). The setting up of my at-home work space was long over due so it was time well spent. The before and in-progress photos were shown in last week’s LWTW post.

And there you have it, a look back on what I wore and/or did last week.  What’s your weekly routine? How do you decide what you’ll wear every day?  No matter the other circumstances in life, it’s important to let your personal style shine in all that you’re doing or where that may happen.

In the midst of the changes to our lives that happening now, what’s been your gameplan? Are you the type that lays out a strategy ahead of time or do you play it by ear? How good are you at going the distance?

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Hi Rena, greetings from Florida! I love your blog topics and your writing style. It’s been fun seeing your OOTDs and a peek at your work-at-home office. You inspired me to rearrange my own (now) WAH office. It’s way too warm here to dress in layers so my OOTDs begin with shorts and nobody’s the wiser on video conferences. Have a smooth week, and thanks again for your lively blog.
