Up until now, my Last Week This Week posts have been a look back at what I’d worn the previous Monday thru Friday as long as it had been a workday.  Once I’d retired, I had intended to expand the look back to be all OOTDs Sunday thru Saturday. Given that I’ll now be working from home for the duration, I’ve decided to push up the expansion plan and start now.

I’d like to share that I’ve jumped into this new lifestyle with gusto. That I shower and dress as I normally would on a typical workday or busy, plan filled weekend day. It has not been so just yet, at least not consistently. However, I am picking up the pace, so to speak, with exercising daily. As productive as that may sound, I lacked the motivation to move beyond the workout clothes on most days last week.

So for now, LWTW will serve as more of a recording of the past week, something like a diary. As such, for each day there is a brief description of my outfit or the photo as well as a detail or two about what happened.

Sunday

Surely it’s a sign of the times that this playground in a local park is had been closed. When I passed by this spot two days earlier, there had been a couple of small children with their parents making use of the play apparatus.

Monday

We didn’t make the drive to a colleague’s house to get my tripod over the weekend so I’m trying to be a little creative with the daily photos until I have it to use. Opted for my paradise tee ‘cuz, you know, everything is so hunky-dory.

Tuesday

I had a couple of video-conferencing meetings so I made a big effort to be dressed and presentable. Even did a full-on application of makeup.  Another double denim ensemble; thrifted Chico’s jacket seen in Saturday’s post, In Real Life: When Best-Laid Plans Go Astray and top seen the recent Would You, Could You?: Double Denim & Ruana post. Pants and boots are also thrift store finds.

Wednesday

No OOTD photo because I looked a mess and didn’t change out of my workout clothes until late. Fortunately, no video-conferences. I did, however, make some progress in improving my office space and cleared my laptop from the dining room table. Facing a wall is not my favorite way to work and now I get a full view of the room.

Thursday

One of my colleagues was heading in my direction late Wednesday night and graciously agreed to ferry my tripod when I asked if he would. And even with my tripod at hand, I’ve got no OOTD photo. I had four meetings plus a ton of work to do so time (and daylight) got away from me.

Friday

Shut the front door! My first OOTD photo, at home, taken at my front door, by me. Work out clothes, because it’s Friday and no one sees you from the chest down when you’re on a video-conference.

Saturday

Ha, the weekend. Instead of walking for my exercise, I suggested to The Husband that we go for a bike ride, to which he agreed. There were many others in our area that had the same idea and the recommended 6′ physical distancing was well-practiced.   The last time I’d been out on my bike was early last summer and that had been the first time I’d been on a bike in a very, very long time.  After more than a week of daily walks, I found this day’s ride much easier on my legs than the ride we did last year.

And there you have it, a look back on what I wore and/or did last week.  What’s your weekly routine? How do you decide what you wear every day?  Pandemic social distancing aside, it’s important to let your personal style shine no matter what you’re doing or where that happens.

In the theme of “picking up the pace”, I’d like to share a few stats that prove the point. According to my fitness tracker, my step counts in the last two weeks are double what my weekly average had been since the beginning of the year. My pace is getting faster and it’s dropped by over a minute per mile.  On the blog side of things, this post is the ninth one published this month.  It’s been a long, long time since I’ve been that prolific.  Once I have a little more free time, I plan to publish three posts a week. More on that to be revealed soon.

Be well and let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
