As I face a moment of regret for yet again featuring a leopard print, I’d been struck with the idea for today’s post as I was writing the one for last Saturday. My admission of the fondness I have for pairing leopard pants with a white shirt had me remembering a leopard pants and little black jacket post from early 2017.

Would You, Could you? is the guiding theme for my posts that are published on the second Saturday of the month. Such is the question one might ask of oneself when happening upon fashion inspirations in magazine articles, store displays, or social media. Or you might find inspiration in an unexpected place like a sunset, or a desert landscape, or a plate of food.  Sometimes it might just be the heap of cast-offs in your closet. As I shared before, the inspiration for today’s look is a post of my own from nearly 5 years ago which was originally inspired Andrea at Living On Cloud Nine (a tidbit you already know if you read my original post).

In my current recreation, you’ll notice that I’ve opted for a vest instead of a blazer. This vest was a contender for my recent Invested In Style: Magnificent 8 Collaboration and as runner-up, I figured it deserved a post of its own. A recent thrift store find, it turns out that it had been misracked as it’s a man’s vest and was hanging in the women’s section of the store. I do like that the backside fabric is the same as the front and not a cheaper, thin material meant to be hidden under a jacket.

The white button-down shirt is one of the ones from last week’s post and the red booties are the ones I wore in last Would You, Could You post. The leopard pants are the same ones worn in the post from 2017. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that they fit me again. I remember seeing a pair of them on display in the store close to five years ago and thinking that they were so bold. At first, I hesitated and had to go back a few days later to make my purchase once I realized that they were too fabulous not to buy. They quickly became a favorite that were worn at least once if not twice a month while I was still working. And even though no so much since I’ve retired, I’ve got no plans to get rid of them (at least until I lose another 10-15 pounds).

For a little giggle, check out the side-by-side then vs now comparison. The photo on the left is what appears in my Instagram feed and the one on the right is similarily destined.

As for my regret, it did strike me as odd that I was writing another post about leopard print. One might think that I’m obsessed and that leopard must permeate in all aspects of my wardrobe but that’s not the case. And to prove it, I solemnly swear to not publish a post featuring a leopard print for at least 6 months. But too be honest, I may or may not be able to stick with that. Only time will tell.

Let’s Wrap This Up

Now, onto the Fine-Whatever link-up. My featured blogger from last week’s link-up post is Amber, the self-described San Bernadino Mountains hiking expert you’ll find sharing all her adventures on her blog The Hungry Mountaineer. In addition to her passion for enjoying the great outdoors, Amber also has a fondness for the ponies and looking stylish at the same time.

Have I successfully inspired you to give pairing a leopard print pant with a white button-down shirt and vest a try? With red shoes no less? Is this a look you would or could try? What are the biggest influences on your style choices? Where do you find your fashion inspirations? Do share your thoughts in a comment.

Stay well and let’s keep in touch! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, pin … all options are available. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  1. You wear these pants so well – then and now! I have some leopard print pants (but they are pink!) that really need to be worn more! I only ever seem to pull them out in spring, haha!

    Thanks for the link up!

Hope that you are having a good weekend 🙂 We are enjoying the sunny days after a rainy and stormy week!

I love that side by side picture! I don’t have a pair of leopard pants but I have leopard maxi that I really like and probably don’t wear enought. Of course I have a couple leopard tees one of which is grey which was a hand me down.

I love the flashback pic! But the vest look now is so much better- I adore your look with the vest!! And animal print should be a daily- such a mood booster! Have a great weekend:)

  4. A leopard print is something I have loved all my life! It looks fabulous with a white blouse! Thanks for hosting Rena!

  5. Ahh, Rena, I love the side by side of the IG photos! How fun! Both outfits are fabulous. I love the red shoes in the earlier one and these brown boots are gorgeous, too. What a super cool vest as well. Great thrifty find!

  6. I never tire of leopard print! I don’t know if I could not post for months an outfit that included it! Those pants look wonderful and I love the vest with it, great disovery. I want a knit vest, but have 2 menswear vests I seem to wear every year. Very stylish!
