The weekend before this last one I attended Fierce Con 2018, a gathering of women at midlife and beyond who embraced an opportunity to rewire and inspire. While I still need to put together my recap post of the event, I’ll share with you now that I came away with an incredible renewed energy. Like I’d been recharged and shown how I could recharge myself on a daily basis.

Last Week This Week is a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

And this newfound ability couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m in the midst of one of my annual projects at work with a short timeline that winds up with me putting in long, long hours. After two weekends in a row of playtime, this past one I was in the office both days so it’ll be 12 straight days for me by Friday.

Monday

Gearing up for the long haul, the week started out with some favorites.  Plaid blazer, cropped pants, oxfords … nothing new.

Tuesday

This knitted blazer was a birthday gift from me to me.  I bought it and the top while we were in Las Vegas which involved a trip to one of the outlet malls ‘cuz it was my birthday.

Wednesday

Proof that I’ve really been working late … it was dark outside by the time I got around to taking the photos.  I really like this cardigan but I’m not sure that it does much for me.  I’m finding that gray is not my best color anymore with my now silvery hair.

Thursday

And then there was the day that I just forgot to take photos so a hanger shots of the outfit will have to do.

Friday

My favorite of the week.  I bought the jacket at Anthropologie a few months ago, on sale with another markdown so it was a really good bargain.  I may try it and the jeans with a different top and boots this week.

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week.  How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.

Have you given any thought to how you can renew your energy?  Got any tricks or tips to share?  The photo below is a sneak peek at tomorrow’s Magnificent 8 Collaboration blog post.  Be sure to stop by and see what’s got me kicking up my heels.

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

I’m really liking your Wednesday and Thursday looks a lot! The subtle patterns in Thursday’s pants are really cool and I like the happy squirts of yellow in the blouse you paired with them!
I’m always glad to see inspiration begin to take hold so I’m looking forward to hearing more about the Magnificent 8!
