Back in September of 2017, I published my first Last Week This Week post and launched a weekly linkup with that theme. I found that I didn’t have enough time to run two weekly linkups so LWTW eventually became just a weekly post. LWTW is intended to be a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I typically include a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

Monday

Despite the very hot temps in the Los Angeles area, a light jacket is still a must when working in an air-conditioned building. It’s only the fabric of this little swingy number that is lightweight because it’s a workhouse when it comes to style and versatility. Best of all, it was a thrift-store find.  The reason you only see half of this outfit in the feature image is that I wore these pants again on Friday.  I usually don’t repeat an item within the same week but my temporary disability has created a few fashion challenges for me.

Tuesday

I wear these animal print pants about every other week and this is an outfit that has been repeated several times this year. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it, right?

Wednesday

My first day without the cast (as well as the knee scooter) so I opted for a maxi skirt otherwise I would have had to wrap the boot around my pants. Besides, it gave me a chance to wear my favorite color combo, blue and black. Makes me yearn for boot weather (LOL).

Thursday

Remember this dress from my Life’s A Beach post? I had had plans to showcase the dress in one of my Up Down All-Around posts but then I was on that sabbatical so now here’s my chance to show the dress styled for the office. The dress was bought new but my jacket was another thrift-store find.

Friday

The graphic on my tee says “live the life you love” and I originally bought it to wear to yoga or while working out. Since I haven’t done much of either lately, it had been waiting patiently in a drawer to be worn. Graphic tee and blazer (yet another one bought at a thrift-store ) make for a great casual Friday look.  I think I’ll have to look for another top to wear for working out because this one needs to stay presentable for the office.

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week.  How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me. How do you kick up your style heels?

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

I love seeing your happy face in these photos Rena.
Do I detect a move AWAY from colors?
These are sophisticated and professional looks despite your casted leg but very “New York black, navy, grey, and white.
I hope to see more brights when you emerge from disability and move back to greater mobility. Either way, I’ll always love the way you roll Rena!

  4. This is a fun idea for a post and great to see all the office style inspiration in one place! 🙂 Glad things are going well with your knee, it was good to see the progression of it! 🙂 I’m a very casual dresser most of the time, but on the couple of days I’m in the office I like to wear dresses and skirts a lot 🙂

Hope that you are having a great weekend! It was another quiet one here, but I did manage to upload my vlog from the blogger event I went to which I’m really happy with 🙂
