How often do you find yourself adding more to your already full plate? Like for instance, you decide to buy a new home, fix it up to your liking, sell your old place, move, and extend the distance and time of your commute? Somehow, that just doesn’t seem like enough. What more can you add?

Last Week This Week is a look back at what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

The weather is in the midst of changing as are other aspects of my life. For now, let’s just see how my sartorial choices are adapting.

Monday

You’d think it was Spring already with the temperature reaching into the high 70’s. Well, it nearly was this time last week and this lightweight jacket is one that gets a lot of wear in the warmer weather. It also has 3/4 length bell-shaped sleeves with a cuff detail that I thought my work well with a bell-sleeved blouse. And the green blouse for St Patrick’s Day, although a day late.

Tuesday

Betwixed and between on the weather, I opted for one of my many lightweight cardigans and dug out these stacked-heeled lace-up loafers. I’m in the midst of a potential downsizing of my current footwear inventory and wearing them to reassess comfort/function/style is part of my process. These lovelies may not have made the cut which is disappointing because I really like their styling and details.

Wednesday

One of my self-imposed fashion rules is no tall boots in Spring, at least if I’m in SoCal. A few years ago, The Husband and I spent about a week traveling around the mid-Atlantic states in early April and I was very glad that I brought my boots on the trip because the East Coast weather was still quite chilly. Needless to say, my typical cutoff date for wearing tall boots is mid-March but it rained today so I decided to break the rule. And because I did, I can share these new-to-me boots I found a few weeks ago at a thrift store.

I’ve had a similarly styled pair with the zipper in the back for many years. That detail was quite popular when I bought them though many of boots sporting it were (IMHO) stylistically more suited to much younger women. The pair I bought was more streamlined and the zipper was black so it didn’t stand out as much as those in a contrasting did. Unfortunately, I recently noticed that the years were taking their toll and the outer material had begun to crack. I made a mental note to myself to be on the lookout for a replacement pair and no less than a day later, I found them. At a thrift store. My size. $9. The blue zipper doesn’t bother me so much now. Thank you to whoever added these beauties to their donation pile.

Thursday

An example of my basic go-to look. In my typical basic black with a punch of color. Basically, Mother would approve.

Friday

I took a vacation last Friday so no work OOTD to share. Without much on our to-do list for the day, I was able to persuade The Husband to take a walk, a really long walk, with me along the beach. Here I am caught in the act of taking some photos that will be shared in an upcoming post.

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week.  How do you decide what you will wear to work? Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be checked out from any type of routine, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.

The photo below was taken on the previous weekend and has already been shared in my Instagram feed. It’s almost a blooper because my photographer started shooting before I was fully ready. Nonetheless, it turned out pretty well, I think. I’m not sure how this all relates to the rest of the post but I decided to close with it anyway.

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tuesday’s camel colored pumps are really classy. The heel would be way too high for me but I love them and I’m sure the next owner will too!

Rena, I am dying over your shoes from Tuesday and your coat in the last photo! Both are so fabulous! Of course, I always love your sartorial choices and it is fun to see what you put together for the week.
