During my recent blogging break, I gave consideration to the weekly rotating themes of my link-up and decided on a couple of changes. For the second Saturday of the month, going forward the posts will feature a “trend”, whether it’s momentary in nature or one of long-standing.

Track pants for non-leisure wear made a splash in the fashion world last year and I showcased a pair I style for work, fun, and play in Making Style Tracks. This styling detail seems to still be in play and it was the feature that caught my eye with these cropped jeans.

The “stripe” is actually a heavy gauge zipper that really works that can be opened and closed as desired. There are threads sewn across them a couple of inches above the knee to prevent any unwanted overexposure.

Besides the side stripe, the other detail I really like on these jeans is the shark-bite like raw edge hem.  I’m not fond of the uber-destroyed look but I do embrace a bit of distress here and there.   The all-over faded wash coloring is a refreshing alternative to darker jeans with selective faded spots.

These cuties have been worn a ton since I bought them and have been in the suitcase for each of my recent get-aways. I’ve usually stuck with some combination of blue and white as I’ve done as well in this ensemble. For this look, I thought to dress the jeans up a smidge by pairing them with a striped button-down blouse and boldly floral blazer.  With limited options for shoes at present, I opted for my white sneaks but I’m going to experiment with other footwear once my foot is back to normal.

The photos for this post were taken last weekend while The Husband and I were on our weekend getaway to celebrate our 27th anniversary.  Our hotel room had a view of this marina and the location seemed like a perfect backdrop for this outfit.

I suppose that one of the best measures of the appeal of these jeans is that my daughter has mentioned on more than one occasion how much she likes them and wants a pair herself. Fortunately for her, they are still available and her wish will soon be fulfilled. What details do you think make a garment pop?

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you. And don’t forget to add a post or two to the link-up.
