Last Week This Week is a look back on what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be retired, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, in whatever manner you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me. I’m inspired by the creativity I see shared on so many blogs and Instagram accounts.

Monday

It was a short week because I headed out of town on Thursday to spend an extended weekend in Seattle at a blogger meet up (details will be shared in an upcoming post) so there are only three workday outfits. My back-to-work Monday outfit started with a rediscovered jacket from my closet that I’ve not worn in a long time and a pair of loafer pumps. Anyone recognize the striped top?

Tuesday

I paired up a medmedallionttern cardigan with a tweed skirt just so that I could wear these open toe pumps with laser-cut detail that have been on repeat lately.

Wednesday

Another skirt and cardigan ensemble but this time in a combination of burgundy and black. The cardigan is a flyaway and my necklace is shorter so the overall silhouette isn’t an exact repeat from Tuesday.

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week. I expect that in future posts there will be repeat wearings of some of these outfits or a mix and match of the pieces. If you missed the post where I explain the reasons behind this new weekly feature (minus the link up), you can read about it here.  I’ll close out this post with a sneak peek photo from the upcoming post on my Seattle trip.

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you. And there’s still lots of time to join the Fine-Whatever link up in last Saturday’s post, Mixed Bouquet: Floral Trends.

I really like the professional edge that each of these outfits has. Do you think we get less casual as the fall comes on and the cooler temps approach?
My favorite is the sweater with the little medallions on it. Reminds me of a print you might find on a mens tie. Very snappy looks Rena!!

  2. I love that you do this post. Sometimes we get into a rut of coming up with new ideas, when in reality we do have to get up and get dressed every single day. I’ve been trying to think more about posting on Instagram at least a few times a week, because that way I take pics of what I am actually wearing. It makes me think more about what I am going to put on, specifically on a non-work (outside the home) day. Thanks for sharing your beautiful outfits. – Amy
