Last Week This Week is a look back on what I actually wore last Monday thru Friday as long as it was a workday. I’ve included a brief description of each outfit and if I wore it for a specific event other than a typical workday. Without a specified dress-code in my workplace, casual Friday isn’t really an official thing but I usually adhere to it nonetheless.

Let me clarify … unless you’ve declared yourself to be retired, anything you do during daylight hours (and sometimes nighttime ones as well) whether or not you get paid for it, I consider that to be your “work” and you should/can be dressed accordingly. And even if you are retired, however, you’ve enjoyed your day is good enough for me.

Monday

My back-to-work Monday outfit last week started with the shoes. I adore the laser cut detail of them as well as the unusual shape of the heel but for some reason, I’ve not worn them in a long time. I knew that they would look great with this skirt which had been featured three months ago in Ruffle Edged Skirt: Up Down All-Around.

Tuesday

I dressed for ease and comfort last Tuesday because I was scheduled to lead a training workshop at which I expected to be on my feet most of the day.

Wednesday

On the days when I want to feel extra confident and fierce, I will opt for one of my go-to-can’t-fail outfits and that’s what you see in these next two photos.

Thursday

On this day, I knew that I would be at a meeting with my boss’s boss and I would be a key player in the meeting. For that reason, I again went with one of my go-to-can’t-fail outfits that is also in my favorite color combo of blue and black.

Friday

I typically opt for jeans on Friday but usually try to dress them up a bit with my choice of shoes and a cardigan or jacket.

Wrap Up

And there you have it, a look back at what I wore to work last week. I expect that in future posts there will be repeat wears of some of these outfits or a mix and match of the pieces. If you missed last week’s post about the reasons behind this new weekly feature and link up, you can read about it here.

  1. Great new series and stylish looks! Love the bold black and cream dress. I have been considering doing something similar because I do wear a lot of great looks during the week that never make it to the blog. I just seem to have a problem stopping to take a photo every day.

  2. Rena, you are so fabulous with such an impeccable sense of style! Every look made me say “Yes! She looks magnificent!” And I am loving your hair so much this way. So sassy! So my daily work involves momming and blogging! So every day I dress for blog photos and taking kids to school. Man, do I get looks at school (blog post coming this week on that topic). Thanks for another great link up and so much outfit inspiration!

A stylish week to be sure! That skirt is really fun with the print mixed layers already built in. My other favorite piece is the burgundy/ purple utility type jacket. This looks like a versatile jacket that can be dressed up and down but the color is so cool!! I can remember planning a killer outfit for those days I knew would be more challenging.
You have weathered some recent bumps in the road my friend and it’s so wonderful to see you on the other side looking strong and confident and taking such pleasure in the simple joy in creating some faboo looks :-):-)!!

I wear a uniform to my job – not an officially logo’d one, but black pants and a top – so my look back would be the same on Mon-Fri! I really enjoyed seeing what you put together and those black shoes for the boss’s boss meeting are lovely.

  5. Some great looks here, thanks so much for sharing and hosting the link-up. x
