A couple of weeks ago, I’d found myself with an occasion to go shopping (not like that’s a regular occurrence for me or anything). While browsing in one of my more favorite stores that day, I spied this blossom embroidered cardigan (in my size) folded neatly on a display table and scooped it up immediately, lest anyone else get their hands on it. And as my luck would have it, there was a store-wide markdown in progress that day as well.

If there is one item of clothing I adore more than any other, it is an embellished sweater. Combine that will a sale and I’m giddy beyond belief. I also picked up the tassel necklace I’m wearing in these photos along with another shorter length one, both of which were already marked down and then the store-wide markdown applied them too. Now I know that you’re probably thinking “the last thing that gal needs is another cardigan and more necklaces” because I’d had the same thought but I quickly banished those from my mind and so should you.

Cardigan – Loft (exact)
Peplum top – Style & Co (exact)
Pants – no label, thrifted (similar look, another option)

This peplum top has been a favorite of mine for a while now and it’s been shared before and the same is true for my pants. They were a thrifted find last year and I first shared them matched with a teal bomber style jacket in one of my color pairing posts.

Shoes – Kelly & Katie, no longer available (similar with closed toe, another option with block heel)
Necklace – Loft, no longer available (similar look, pretty option)

  1. Rena, I adore this cardigan. And those shoes are amazing! I find that I can’t wear that brand though as they are much too narrow. But they have so many cute styles! What a fabulous outfit, my friend! And my fashion weaknesses? HAHAHAHAHA! What don’t I have too much of in my closet. Well…30 kimonos? Too much. Hundreds of pairs of shoes? Yes, too much. About 90 cardigans, 200+ scarves, and 80 pairs of jeans? Too much, yes! I am definitely a clothes hoarder with a shopping problem! But most of my friends are quite envious of my closet. So is this a bad thing?

    Have a great weekend!

Shelbee, to be honest, embroidered cardigan is only one of the items that I have far too many of and keep on getting more. IMHO, hoarding is only a bad thing if the clothing is unwearable, either because of condition or size. Otherwise, the more, the merrier.

  2. I have no idea what you’re talking about Rena….I have so little in my closet, and nothing of repeats—ha ha ha ha!!!
Anyways, I added my mom’s shoes for your floral theme, because they are my faves!! I told her when I gave them to her, that I would need to borrow them. Nothing like the advantage of living close to each other, right?
And I would have bought this cardigan too—it’s too good not to have!

Jodie, you’re too funny sometimes. I’m jealous that you can share some clothing with your mom and Nancy. None of the women in my family wear the same size anything although my daughter has been known to borrow from me if she wants an oversized look.

You made an EXCELLENT choice in snapping up this beautifully embroidered cardigan!! It’s a great color that will go well with many of your Fall and winter tooks!! I imagine that cardigans and denim jackets are a huge staple during a California winter! Additionally, for me…embroidery is always worthy of serious consideration!!
Most importantly is that it’s a look that flatters you!!
I’m hoping that your life has begun settling into a more familiar pattern. Though I may not know you well Rena, I think you’ve gained perspective and motivation from your experiences during the last several months. I have a feeling that your life is feeling renewed. Hope that’s not presumptuous. Maybe it’s a new twinkle in your eye?

In SoCal, we do have it a bit easier dressing for cooler weather because we don’t need to be warding off frostbite, just a bit of chill. I’m glad that you share in my fondness for embroidered embellishments.

  4. Oh is there something as too many cardigans, necklaces, shoes, dresses, blouses………

    • Rena

Thank you, Laurie. I knew that I would find kindred spirits among my fellow bloggers.

  5. That’s a fabulous cardigan! You definitely had to get it! Great shoes, too!

Thanks for the link up! I hope you are having a great weekend!

Thank you, Andrea. I’m batting a thousand so far as I haven’t had a naysayer yet.

  6. Dear Rena, I never thought for a single moment that you had too many cardigans or necklaces. Is there such a thing? You look wonderful, and thank you as always for your kind and encouraging remarks on my blog. xo

Patti, you’re such a dear (and dare I say, an enabler). Thank you for supporting my point of view.

  7. As the saying goes they are all same, same but different. I am sure you haven’t had this exact cardigan before, Rena so why not. The colour is great, the embroidery on the side makes it interesting and most importantly, you look great in it. Love the shoes

You’re absolutely right, Anna. I didn’t have one in this color or with the same type of embroidery detail.

    • Rena

Rania, I like your philosophy and I might even quote it in the future.

  8. This is a very pretty embroidered cardigan! I like your necklace and think I recently picked up the same one. If it’s not the same, it is very similar. I have entirely too many shoes and cannot help myself when I see a cute pair, especially if they are on sale. 🙂

    • Rena

Jennie, I know what you mean. It’s hard to justify passing up a good deal as long as the item fits and will be worn. I’ll looking for a post that shows your new necklace to see what you’ve paired with it.

Lovely cardigan, the embroidery is so pretty. I have too much of everything – according to my husband anyway! Shoes are a particular weakness!

Thank you, Emma. I’m glad you like the cardigan and I think most husbands think that their wives have too much of everything. LOL

Amy, it’s good to know that we are of like minds regarding this trend.

Thank you. I’m glad that you stopped by and commented.

Jacqui, thank you and I’m glad that you like the combination. It seems like cropped pants and cardigans have become my new go-to look for work.

Jess, thank you for the compliments. Sometimes you just know when you’ve found the right one and that;s how it was with the cardigan.
