So one day about six weeks ago, I decided that my wardrobe was lacking in floral print pants and after a quick search on the internet, I found these palazzo beauties. They are from NY & Company and this pant style also comes in other prints and patterns. I had originally intended to use this outfit in last month’s Powers The Flower post but I wound up not publishing that post. It’s a perfectly good outfit and it seemed like such a shame not to use in a post so that’s what I’m doing. Fine, whatever.

Since the floral print is so bold, I kept the rest of the outfit simple and paired them with a white peplum tee and black cardigan with a ruffled detail along the placket. A red leather shopper that I’ve had for years helps to showcase the bright colors of the flowers.

Palazzo pants are meant to be worn long, like “grazing the floor” long and being a somewhat height challenged, this means that I need to wear my platform wedge sandals and make sure that I avoid walking through puddles. Winter is definitely over here in So Cal. I’m in the midst of rotating my closet, packing away the boots and heavy sweaters to make room for my sandals and warm weather clothes.

Lastly, let’s discuss my hair. I so desperately want to get an edgier cut but I just haven’t had the time but I trying some new looks until then. These photos were taken a few weeks after a recent Blogger Meet Up I went to and my decision to wear my hair up as I am in these photos was influenced by the fabulous Diane Capozzi of Fashion On The 4th Floor. Stay tuned for more changes regarding my hair.

Let’s Wrap This Up

Now, onto the Fine-Whatever link up for this week. My featured contributor from the last link up post is Rosie from The World Through Rosie Colored Glasses. This was Rosie’s first time joining the link up and I’m so delighted that she did. Please pop over to her blog and give it looksie.

Around here, the weather seems to change overnight (or at least within a couple of weeks), what’s it like in your neck of the woods? Are you glad or sad to be packing away your boots and sweaters?. And when it comes to florals, is your motto “go bold or go home” or do you prefer a more sedate approach?

Let’s connect! Subscribe, tweet, follow, friend, love, pin, stumble … all options are available and waiting for you. I look forward to hearing from you. And don’t forget to add a post or two to the link up.

  4. Fun pants, fun hair! I love the print placement — kind of reminds me of mariachi pants (in a good way).

I LOVE these palazzo pants Rena! You did a fabulous job of letting these uniquely patterned pants take center stage by keeping the rat of your outfit more demure.
Goodness knows these will be very versatile because they have so many color options to be inspired by. I look forward to seeing them again!!
I’ll bet you wear your hair up a lot in the warmer months. I don’t have nearly the volume of hair that you do, but it’s so comfortable to get it off the neck on a warm day. I think this style suits you very well!!

  6. I love this groovy look baby ; P

Plus you just look so darn happy! I’d wear all of this in an instant.

I think you gain a few inches in height just by wearing your hair up. Too bad mine won’t stand up. I could be a whole foot taller!

    bisous

  7. I’m commenting in backwards order today, Rena. I just commented on the post about growing your hair out so this will sound a little redundant, but your outfit reminds me so much of one of my favorite designers — Alice + Olivia! If you’re not familiar with her styles, you have to look at her IG feed or go to her website to see what I mean. Those pants ROCK and, combined with the wedge sandals and your amazing hair, your street style is ON POINT!

I love those pants. Just love them! And I wish I could do my hair like yours and Diane’s!

    Hugs,
    Sherry
