Such a deal I got on this bold print tunic.  I almost didn’t buy it because the colors didn’t seem right for summer and it is definitely a very bold pattern, maybe too bold.  But for $10 how could I pass it up?  Yup, $10 (plus tax). My first thought was that I would wait until Fall to wear this tunic but the featherweight fabric is perfect for summer so I started to explore my options for wearing it now. And that’s how this bargain became the July “style it up, down, all-around” item.

Is it really a tunic or is that just a fancier name for a dress? Perhaps but I offer the following definition from thefreedictionary.com; tunic – a loose-fitting garment, sleeved or sleeveless, extending to the knees and worn by men and women especially in ancient Greece and Rome. I think this item meets that criteria (except for the ancient Greece and Rome part) so tunic it is.

Dressed Up For Work

Two weeks ago I discussed the merits of a completer piece (see it here) and how well a vest fits into that category in warmer weather. The longer length of this black one adds some visual weight to the tunic making it more fitting for work. The tunic is from H&M and is still available (see link below). The vest I found back in April at a Banana Republic Outlet so I cannot offer you a direct link but I found some others that are similar.

Dressed Down For Play

The loose fit of this tunic makes it a natural to wear as a cover-up and the bold print adds a punch of style when you are poolside. A straw hat for protection from the sun and a tote for my towel and magazines are the only accessories I need for enjoying some quiet time.

Dressed For All-Around Fun

This fun look was the first one I came up with because it seemed natural to wear this bold print tunic with pants or leggings. Like with the look for work, I’ve added a belt to define my waist even though I think it looks good loose and flowy, too. What do you think of the shoes? Don’t they kick the outfit up a notch or two?

There are so many more options for styling this tunic running through my head that you will be seeing this beauty again and again. I can see myself wearing it over jeans with stacked heel sandals or with my OTK black suede boots. The possibilities are endless.

Oh Rena, I am seriously crushing on this tunic! I absolutely love it! The colors are gorgeous. The print is fabulous. And tunics are one of my favorite pieces of clothing ever to wear! I like it best paired with the black pants, for sure. The black makes the colors pop and just add such a nice dimension to the outfit. And yes, those shoes are perfect!

  5. Great tunic, Rena! Tunics are so versatile! I can see yours styled so many ways throughout the year! It looks great the three ways you styled it! And I can’t wear heels, but I am envious of the lace-up heels! Fabulous!

Thank you so much for featuring me! The pants are getting a bit worn, and I’ll have to find a replacement pair!
