Up, Down, All-Around 2-For-1 Skirt

One of my best-thrifted bargains recently has to be what I’m calling a 2-for-1 skirt. I’ve named it so because it’s reversible as you can in the feature image above. With two very different patterns, it’s easy to restyle this skirt for many occasions and it would be hardly noticed that you wore the skirt perhaps just the day before.

The two patterns have a similar color palette so switching from one side to the other for work, play, or fun is quite easy. For all three of the looks I’ve styled the skirt with a mix of blue and white but gray would also be suitable as it’s in the palette as well. In this work look, a boxy jacket and t-strap pumps give it a serious tone while the peplum top adds a little lightness.

Like last week’s cropped pants post, the photos for the ‘play’ and ‘fun’ looks below were taken on our Memorial Day weekend getaway along California’s central coast. On this day, we went wine tasting in Paso Robles. Knowing that we would find some great spots for taking photos, I started out the day in one outfit and then changed into the other. Either one of these looks could work for play or for fun, so I’m just going to show them.

First up is the reverse side of this 2-for-1 skirt. I love how the stripes change direction as the skirt drapes around my hips. A navy tank top with a lightweight sweater and my strappy wedges make for an easy, casual look.

For this last look, I was tempted to grab my white keds but I opted for my blue tennies instead. The denim jacket (another great thrifted find) and a sleeveless button front blouse create an opposite or ‘reverse’ look to the one above. I could also wear the denim jacket with the blue tank or the blouse with the cardigan for two additional looks.

    It would be pretty hard to find someone less into fashion than me, but I have to say COOLEST SKIRT EVER! I have never seen anything like that. All our clothes should be reversible 🙂

    I love this idea and you’ve styled it great!! I was looking into the reversible jeans at one time. I think the whole reversible item idea is brilliant for travelling!!
    I’m not sure if I missed it, but did you say where you got this?

      Husband says I should be in the CIA with all my sleuthing. Haha. I bought the skirt at a local Salvation Army store for $4. No label so I don’t know its origins but I was able to find a few online at Coldwater Creek.
