Green is a busy color nowadays. It’s not just an adjective, it’s doing triple duty as a noun and a verb. Traditionally, green has signified growth, rebirth, and fertility. To some, green represents good luck or holiness and yet there are sayings like green with envy or green behind the ears, which have less than desirable meanings. To give someone the green light means they have been approved but if you say someone is green around the gills, then you might want to stay clear of them. Universally, green is associated with nature and symbolizes ecology and the environment. And according to one source, there are more shades of green than any other color.

Of course, there is a lot of green going on this week because of St Patrick’s Day hence the theme for this week’s link-up. I don’t have many boldly green items in my wardrobe and those that I do have I probably bought with the idea that I could wear them on St Patrick’s Day. This blouse is one of those items. I bought it at Old Navy a few years ago and this is the first time I’m wearing it which is a shame because now that I see it on, I don’t think it looks too bold at all.

The blouse is a bit sheer so I’m wearing a white cami underneath. The Michael Kors pants, in a petite size and thrifted for $15 (see Boutique Shopping, Goodwill Prices for more details), have a faint pinstripe pattern and are the perfect length for flats like my white Keds that I’ve been raving about.

Here I am looking at everything but the camera and my photographer didn’t get a good backside pic.

To me, this bracelet screams springtime and I adore how well it goes with the blouse. I’ve had it for years and I can’t remember where I bought it.

We tried out a new location for this shoot (did the photos for the Goodwill post there, too). Our plans this past Sunday had us having dinner at my sister and brother-in-law’s house so we got there a little early to take advantage of the late afternoon light. It was nice to be in a private space with lots of room to move around. I had tried to get their two dogs into the photos but they weren’t being very cooperative although we did manage to get this one of Milo.  Good dog!

One more mention before I wrap this up, did you notice the display set up for the photo at the top of the post (also the photo above)? The backdrop is the fence enclosing our back patio but rod and brackets are courtesy of The Husband. Last weekend, I mentioned with him my need for a place where I could hang clothes for photos. As we scouted around our place looking for a suitable backdrop, I pointed to the fence and said that I liked the look of it. He replied he would see what he could do and Monday when I got home from work, he surprised me with this. Thanks Honey!

I hope that your day is spent “green”, full of good luck and with kindness to the environment, and that you’re not an odd shade of green later this evening due to wee bit too much St Patrick’s Day cheer.

Let’s connect. Write to me, follow me, friend me, pin me … all options are available and waiting for you.

    • Thank you. I trying to follow a new ‘fashion’ rule to not let a new item hang unworn in my closet. If I don’t wear it within a month of purchase, then I didn’t need and it should be returned.

    • The top does deserve to be worn more and I’ve considered donating it so it could be loved by someone else but now I can’t imagine doing so. Thank you for stopping by and for your lovely comment.

    • We even tried bribing the dogs with treats but that didn’t help. Live and learn. Thank you for commenting.
