Floral patterns come in all sizes, shapes, and colors and can be worn head to toe, either alone or with others as a wardrobe bouquet. Looking through my closet, the one pattern or print that stands out the most is floral. I have them in all shapes, sizes, color palettes, and styles. From scarfs to shoes and all in between, florals are well represented in my wardrobe. It’s hard for me to resist a pretty flower.

Not Dead Yet Style blogger Patti recently featured dark florals which showed how fitting they are throughout the year and I couldn’t agree more. When I started this blog last year I had an idea for a recurring feature where I would showcase a different flower from my ‘garden’ (aka closet) every month like I did with this post but I hadn’t yet made floral posts a regular occurance. If you read my 16 Goals for 2016 post then you know that one of the goals is to “increase my blog and Instagram followings each by 16 fold” but that won’t happen without a game plan. One element of the plan is to start a link-up and what better theme for me than floral.

So there you have it. A newly minted link-up and, in keeping with the ‘whatever …’ style of the blog, I’m calling it Powers the Flower. A graphic is in development but I didn’t want to wait on rolling out the link-up. For my first Powers the Flower post I am sharing additional images from Day 27 of my 31 Day Footwear Challenge. I love the abstract quality of the floral pattern in this dress and the colors. In warmer weather I have worn this dress to work with my blue suede T-strap pumps (see Day 2) and a bright pink sweater.

  1. Love this! Yes, florals can work all year long, especially the dark ones (but then I’m known to wear some summer and spring colors in the winter too ;-)). Congratulations on the new link up! This is a really cool theme…and I think it’s going to be a really popular one too! There is so much to do with it. You look fabulous, and I love your dress!

    • I’m glad you like the theme. I truly have a lot of florals in my wardrobe and I might do another self-imposed challenge (like the one for footwear) related to florals sometime soon.

    • I love your link-up theme and the whole vibe of your blog. I hope you will add a post or two to Powers the Flower.

  2. Hi, here I am and linking up. As you asked. Although, whenever I link up through my iPad, that darned system always cuts me off while I am still filling everything in. As if it is in a hurry. I hate that. The funny thing is, that all the link-ups are not showing immediately in the post, but you have to click to get there. Nicole of High Lattitude has the same. I think that is not very profitable for your blog. Just saying. It is up to you.
I will link to you on my blog.
As for your dress… of course it is beautiful. Very “now” with the cardigan.

    • PS, when you want to add to the link-up there is a word link at the top of the page to “it is all fine blog” or something like that, which is not working.

      • Great, thanks for linking up. The added links don’t show because I’m not self hosted and WordPress.com doesn’t allow links to be added. I’m moving to self hosting soon. And thanks for the heads-up on the link issue … I will look into it.

    • Thank you and I’ve made my contribution to your linkup.
